Garrucha is located between Vera Playa and the much larger resort of Mojacar.

Garrucha is friendly with most activities and balance activities on the sandy beaches, the sea and the pool is great for kids of all ages.

The beauty of the image of Mojácar, a majestic melting pot of a cluster of white houses, clinging to the very end of the Sierra de Cabrera foothills, surprises us as soon as we arrive. Seventeen kilometres of coastline make Mojácar an ideal place to enjoy its beaches. Many of them have been awarded the FEE Blue Flag for quality. Practicing water sports and relaxing in protected coves are possibilities which the municipality offers.
The standard of living which Mojácar’s special microclimate gives us has become one of the Mediterranean’s best kept secrets. The sunshine, the Mediterranean and the protective mountains guarantee both winters and summers are mild and gentle.

The port of Garrucha

 

The fishing port of Garrucha with its fish market and restaurants with specialty fish. It also has excellent fishing in the sea (a favorite pastime for locals).

Garrucha also has a market every Friday.

Carboneras

 

The town has beaches of El Lancón and Los Barquicos. Since the entire range of Carboneras can see the island of San Andrés, small rocky island of 1.5 hectares whose silhouette on the horizon reminiscent of a whale.

At the mouth of the river Alias, on the coast of Carboneras and inside the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar is a series of pristine beaches. One of them is the beach of the Algarrobico, 3 km long and has witnessed the shooting of the film "Lawrence of Arabia" (David Lean, 1962).

Other beaches of the municipality are El Corral Beach and Los Muertos Beach in the middle of the Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Nijar; they have rock formations volcanic nature shaped by the wind and the sea, and you can practice nudism. South of the village along the coast we find the lighthouse and tower Mesa Roldán, the eighteenth century. To the southeast we reach the beaches and the village of Nijar Aguamarga.

Carboneras and its surroundings are an area that, although in the middle of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park, has no qualification since natural park finds a cement plant, a power plant and a plant desalination of sea water.

In 2006, its beaches have received three blue flags.

Cabo de Gata natural park

The Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Nijar is located in the Province of Almería, Andalusia (Spain).

It occupies 29,000 hectares in the western part of the Gulf of Almería.

It was declared a Natural Park in 1987.

This is probably the only space left blank Mediterranean coast. Many plant species xérophytesendémiques meet there. Recently, this protected area has become a sanctuary of European fauna.

The land consists mainly of sedimentary rocks (sand, etc.) from the seabed, but also of volcanic rocks occurring in different ways, such as columns, volcanic bombs ...

For these and other characteristics the park was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1997 (the first maritime-terrestrial natural park of the country). In 1989, part of the park, Salinas del Cabo de Gata were reported Ramsar1 website.

In the natural park, lies the village of Rodalquilar, and the Botanical Garden of Albardinar.

In order to keep the apartment in good condition, pets are not allowed.
